Miniature city Madurodam

Madurodam is a tourist attraction between The Hague and Scheveningen. It’s a miniature city with models of famous buildings and sceneries in Holland, scale 1:25. Madurodam was renovated in 2012 and shortly after it reopened I visited it with my girlfriend who was in Holland for two weeks. For tourists visiting Madurodam is a great way to see the many sights of Holland in a couple of hours.

Famous buildings that can be seen in this miniature city are the Royal Palace in Amsterdam, Euromast in Rotterdam and the windmills of Kinderdijk. But also ways of transport like trains, Schiphol Airport and the port of Rotterdam. Famous architecture from Holland and bridges like the Erasmus Bridge in Rotterdam.

Videos about the history of buildings can be watched in several languages and children can unload ships with cranes and control wind turbines. This makes a visit to Madurodam fun and also educational.

Tourists easily can visit this attraction in Holland by public transport. This because the tram stops next to the entrance of Madurodam. Take tram 9 from Den Haag Centraal or Den Haag Holland Spoor. After 15-20 minutes you reach stop Madurodam.
