Dutch language

Dutch is the language of most people in the Netherlands. Dutch is a West Germanic language and besides spoken in the Netherlands it also is spoken in Belgium and Suriname. In the Dutch province Friesland people also speak Frisian. Frisian is an officially recognized regional language in the Netherlands. The Dutch language has many dialects. This might be confusing, but all Dutch dialects are related to the Dutch standard language. Besides Dutch most people speak English and many of them also German. This makes it for tourist easy to communicate in the Netherlands.
