I took this photo in summer 2013 during a canal tour. The photo is taken from Dijver and is a well-known picture of some famous buildings in Bruges. In the background the Belfry tower of Bruges, Belgium. The belfry tower is one of the most prominent buildings in Bruges and you can see it from many places in the city. Belfry tower is located at Grote Markt in the historical centre of Bruges. The tower is 83-metres high and has a staircase with 366 steps. Despite this I recommend to climb the tower because from the top you have a great view over Bruges. Halfway you also can see the carillon with 35 bells, which was designed by Melchior de Haze.
