Dubai attractions

Dubai has a lot to offer. For many people shopping in Dubai in an important part of their holiday. Most of the shopping malls have an attraction to make the place interesting. Below only is a short list of Dubai attractions that we visited.

During our stay in Dubai we’ve been to IBN Battuta Mall, Dubai Marina Mall, Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Mall and Wafi City. You can find the famous brands in all of these shopping malls. So brands aren’t a reason to choose a specific shopping mall. A reason to choose for a shopping mall is the associated attraction. For instance IBN Battuta Mall has six courts. Egypt, India, China, Andalusia, Persia and Tunisia all have a court. Shops are built in the style of the country and most of the courts have an attraction like the Chinese junk and the Indian elephant clock.

Perhaps the most famous shopping mall in Dubai is the Mall of the Emirates. This shopping mall has Dubai ski. The huge ski hall in the middle of the desert of Dubai. Besides that also the glass domes are an impressive construction.

One of the most popular Dubai attractions: Ski Dubai

My favourite shopping mall is Dubai Mall which has a collection of Dubai attractions. The shopping mall has a Gold Souk. A modern antithesis of the Deira Gold Souk. Furthermore there is an ice-skating rink, waterfall and huge aquarium. Dubai Aquarium and Under Water Zoo is an attraction itself that you shouldn’t miss. Walk through the shark tunnel or see the fishes from above.

Another impressive shopping mall is Wafi City that is built in Egyptian style. Glass pyramids, domes, statues and images of pharaohs.

Besides shopping malls there of course are more things to do in Dubai. We also visited a water park. Dubai has two large water parks: Wild Wadi Waterpark and Aquaventure Waterpark. We chose to visit Wild Wadi Waterpark which is located between Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Beach Hotel. It truly was an amazing day! Surfing machines, water slides, waterfalls and the Jumeirah Sceirah. A water slide where you slide down with 80km/h. I can recommend this place, but be careful not to get sunburn! We’re completely red after a day in the water park despite frequently using sun lotion. This was by far my favourite Dubai attraction.
