In Singapore I stayed in V Hotel Lavender. Hotels in Singapore are expensive, but V Hotel Lavender was affordable. On internet I saw cheaper hotels, but their location wasn’t so good and it would take much more time to reach Singapore City. V Hotel Lavender is built on top of MRT station Lavender, making it perfect to get to the city in a couple of minutes.
Before and after my trip to Bali I stayed in this hotel. Having a room at the outside of the hotel before the Bali trip and a room at the inside after Bali. When you book the hotel I suggest requesting a room at the outside. At the inside you look into the rooms at the opposite side of the hotel. So other guests also look into your room, and by that you need to have the curtains closed to have some privacy.
Affordable hotel rooms in Singapore aren’t very spacious. The superior double room in V Hotel Lavender was 14m², which isn’t large, but it was okay. The room is simply furnished and clean. Luggage can be placed in the wide window-sill.
V Hotel Lavender has an outdoor pool with terrace and a small fitness centre. I didn’t make use of this, but the pool looked fine and good to refresh after a day of sightseeing in Singapore. The hotel offers breakfast too, but what I personally liked more was to get a breakfast in one of the shops or bakeries on first floor and to eat that in a nearby park.
V Hotel Lavender has one big disadvantage and that is that it is difficult to get in an elevator in peak hour. Most guests want to go to the restaurant for breakfast, but it seems that the capacity of the elevators isn’t enough at that moment. Despite this I can recommend the hotel because for Singapore standard the hotel is affordable and the location on top of MRT station Lavender is perfect.
