In Bali we stayed in the luxury five star hotel Melia Benoa, nowadays Sol Beach House Benoa. Melia Benoa is located in the south of Bali in Nusa Dua. Here you find many luxury resorts. First we booked for the nearby Bali Tropic, but after seeing Melia Benoa we booked that resort and cancelled Bali Tropic. After our stay and seeing both resorts, I’m glad that we did that.
To get around in Bali you need a taxi, but it’s easy to find one. In front of the hotel some taxi drivers were waiting and one of them drove us every day to all the places we wanted to visit. So we had our private taxi driver. The road along the hotel is busy and the only road to Tanjung Benoa, despite that you don’t hear the traffic in the hotel room or garden. One disadvantage of the location is that you have to take the same road to Denpasar every time again if you go sightseeing. With the traffic jams that easily can take 45 minutes, but I heard that a new highway recently opened.
Melia Benoa looks wonderful! Balinese architecture with marble floors and wooden roofs. A spacious open lobby with sitting area, large garden with pond and beach behind the hotel. The hotel also has a swimming pool with pool bar and two restaurants. Having dinner at the beach even is possible. If you don’t want to have dinner in the hotel, I can advise to go to the nearby Bali Collection. Here you find many restaurants, bars and shops. There is a free shuttle bus from Tanjung Benoa to Bali Collection.
We stayed in a 70m2 suite. I never stayed in such a large hotel room before. The suite is provided with a large flat-screen tv, spacious bathroom, guest toilet and sitting area. Furthermore there is a balcony, but unfortunately that overlooked a market next to the hotel and it was a bit smelly.
Compared to the hotel in Singapore, where we stayed before we arrived in Bali, this hotel only was a little bit more expensive, but quality was way better. Also staff was excellent and friendly. Our stay in Melia Benoa was great and I can recommend this hotel to everyone.
